Kraujo rodikliai buvo matuojami naudojant biocheminį analizatorių MULTICARE-IN.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of different diets on guinea pigs' behavior, hair structure, and health indicators. The study was conducted by assessing the health and behavior of 12 guinea pigs. The animals were housed at a public institution "Zoopark" and "Lumas LT" guinea pig breeding facility. Archival data from the Department of Anatomy and Physiology at LSMU was also used. The animals were divided into two groups: the first group was fed diet A, while the second group was fed diet B. During the study, a general examination of the animals was performed, evaluating body weight, condition, snout, coat, vocalizations, and behavior. Animal hair where tested by morphometric analysis. Blood parameters were measured using a biochemical analyzer MULTICARE-IN. Also urine samples where tested by using urine test stripes. The study showed that changes in the amount of crude protein in the diets had a minor effect on hair structure, and no statistically significant differences were found. Blood parameters revealed that tested guinea pigs had some differences in cholesterol levels The results showed small differences between blood cholesterol levels, triglyceride levels and the CH index were within normal ranges. Glucose concentration was also within the normal range. Urine parameters met the norms of those for healthy animals. Based on the results tested in two objects, it can be concluded that the amount of nutrients in the diets met the animals' needs and ensured their well-being, and the differences in the diets did not have a significant impact.
