Autorius: Titas Malinauskas Darbo pavadinimas: Sidabro fosfato antimikrobinės nano dangos įtaka vaikiškų funkcinių lovų paviršių užterštumui LSMUL Kauno Klinikų Vaikų intensyvios terapijos skyriuje Tyrimo tikslas: Ištirti ar mikrobiologinis užterštumas ant dažniausiai lovos liečiamo paviršiaus sumažėja, vietoje įprastos funkcinės vaikiškos lovytės naudojant sidarbo fosfato nano danga padengtą vaikišką lovytę. Bus lyginimos nanodanga padengtos ir nepadengtos, kitais atžvilgiais identiškos vaikiškos funkcinės lovos LSMUL KK Vaikų ITS.

Title: Influence of silver phosphate antimicrobial nano coatings on contamination of children's functional beds surfaces in HLUHS Kaunas Clinics Pediatric intensive care unit
Aim of the study: To investigate whether microbiological contamination on the most commonly touched surface of the bed is reduced by using a silver phosphate nano-coated crib instead of the usual functional crib. Nano-coated and uncoated, otherwise identical children's functional beds in HLUHS Kaunas Clinics Pediatric ICU will be compared.
Objectives: 1. To compare two identical cots in the Pediatric intensive care unit, the most common contact surface contamination, when one of them is coated with silver phosphate antimicrobial nano paint and the other is not. 2. To compare two identical cots in the Pediatric intensive care unit, the most common contact surface contamination, when one of them is coated with silver phosphate antimicrobial nano paint and the other is not, depending on the age of the children admitted, their gender, the length of hospitalisation, whether the patient has undergone surgery, antibiotic treatment, anaesthesia and oxygen therapy.
Participants and methods: 3 HLUHS KC Pediatric Intensive Care Unit cots. Two of them are identical coated with Teknos BioCote® silver phosphate glass antibacterial paint. The other baby functional bed is uncoated. The microbial contamination of the beds is investigated by taking a smear from the back handle of the bed using the 3M Clean-Trace Test microbial contamination system and determining the RLU. 3 samples are taken from each bed: after the bed is cleaned before the patient is placed in bed, after the patient is placed in the ward, and the patient is discharged from the ward. Statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 26. Quantitative trait values in independent groups were compared using the nonparametric Mann Whitney criterion. Results were considered statistically significant at p <0.05.
Results: Children's functional beds coated with antimicrobial silver phosphate nanocoating, the median results of microbial contamination samples after lying in the bed were 35.38% lower than normal cots, respectively non-painted bed’s 277 RLU (Q1 = 195.5; Q3 = 445.5), painted ones 179 RLU (Q1 = 111.5; Q3 = 249) (p = 0.036). This shows that the use of silver phosphate nanocoatings in PICU can reduce microbiological contamination. Patient gender, duration of hospitalization, age of patient surgery, antibiotic treatment, anesthesia, and oxygen therapy did not have a statistically significant effect on the results of our study.
Conclusions: 1. By using 3M Clean-Trace samples we have found, that Children's functional beds coated with antimicrobial silver phosphate nanocoating, the median results of microbial contamination samples after lying in the bed were 35.38% lower than normal cots. This shows that the use of silver phosphate nanocoatings in PICU can reduce microbiological contamination.
2. Patient gender, length of hospitalisation, age, whether the patient had undergone surgery, antibiotic treatment, anaesthesia and oxygen therapy did not have a statistically significant impact on the results of our study.
