Introduction: Skin disease is a pathological state affecting the body surface. The symptom of skin diseases is a long and constantly changing process [1]. Skin disease is the fourth leading cause of nonfatal disease burden globally, affecting 30–70% of individuals and prevalent in all geographies and age groups [2]. The aim of this study was to model semi solid preparations for skin treatment and to evaluate their quality. Materials and methods: Semi solid preparations were made by melting method. Tested objects were four semi solid preparations; two were kept at room temperature and the other two in a refrigerator. Two different compositions were modeled. Materials used in the semi solid preparations: white petrolatum, coconut oil, sulfur, salicylic acid, essential oils of lavender and thyme. The quality of the semi solid preparations was evaluated by centrifugation, pH determination, viscosity and texture analysis. The obtained data was statistically analyzed. Results: All four semi solid preparations were stable, syneresis was not detected. Determined pH values: pH 3.79±0.08, pH 2.53±0.04, pH 3.14±0.04, pH 2.40±0.02. Viscosity: 39.65±1.36 Pa·s, 41.62±2.46 Pa·s., 32.75±3.13 Pa·s, 40.89±2.71 Pa·s. Firmness: 245.91±4.40 g, 283.49±9.56 g, 284.37±1.24 g, 343.55±12.00 g. Consistency: 1455.42±24.69 gs, 1704.30±64.77 gs, 1695.46±81.93 gs, 2114.61±108.58 gs. Cohesiveness: -180.28±4.68 g, -224.90±20.29 g, - 224.77±11.13 g, -264.85±10.68 g. Index of viscosity: -242.75±1.53 gs, -391.62±42.24 gs, - 311.67±33.43 gs, -696.40±68.11 gs. Conclusions: The study revealed that different essential oils and storage temperatures affect pH value, viscosity, firmness, consistency, cohesiveness and index of viscosity.
