Surgical injury and the resulting pain activate the stress response and can lead to various adverse (cardiovascular, pulmonary, coagulative, gastrointestinal) effects. Pain control is an important aspect of postoperative care. The goal of pre-emptive analgesia is to prevent or reduce the development of a "memory" of the painful stimulus in the nervous system, thereby lessening the postoperative analgesic requirements and improving patient's well-being. The aim of the study was to compare two different regimens: using paracetamol and analgin (metamizol) as basic analgesic medications for pre-emptive and postoperative analgesia. [...].
