Abstract
Introduction Lumbar degenerative disc disease is a common cause of lower back pain for aging population [1,2]. With rising popularity, surgical interventions for lumbar degenerative disc disease (LDDD) treatment serve as a viable alternative for patients who have failed to respond to non-operative treatments [2,3]. Since every minute spent in the operating room corresponds to the economical and postoperative outcome [4,5], it becomes crucial for perioperative planning to investigate the factors that add to discrepancies in the length of LDDD surgical procedures.
