Abstract
The article presents morphological and histochemical peculiarities of the structure of the human heart in the fifth week of embryonic development. It is at this time of histogenesis that three-layered structures are detected and endocardial cushions appear on the walls of ventricles as well as of atria. It has been established that the detection of a significant amount of histone-like proteins in the citoplasm of cardiomyoblasts along side with an increased amount of total proteins creates favourable conditions for accelerated growth and differentiation of cells.
