Abstract (en)

Diabetic foot ulcers remain a major global burden, and effective nurse-led education is essential for prevention. Objective: To identify common international challenges in nurse-led diabetic foot care education. Methods: A cross-national survey of 412 nurses in six countries used the 15-item Diabetic Foot Care Education Scale. Items whose low awareness proportions exceeded the pooled benchmark in two or more countries were classified as common challenges. Results: Nine of 15 items showed low awareness, particularly in footwear inspection and sock fit. Conclusion: These findings highlight that practical aspects of diabetic foot care remain underemphasized in nurse-led education; context specific improvements may strengthen global prevention.
