Lithuaniuan White pigs were developed in the 20th century. However since 2003 drastic decline in the numbers of Lithuanian White has occurred and the solution adapted by the Institute of Animal Science has been to conserve the remaining of the original Lithuanian White pig breed in a closed herd. Nowadays this herd is the single herd of the old genotype Lithuanian White pigs. The objective of the study was to examine the influence of generation, parity number and year on litter traits in the closed herd of old genotype, Lithuanian White pigs. The data on farrowing and litter size were available per parities from 2000 to 2011. The piglets came from 395 litters (104 dams and 28 sires) of five generations. The data were processed by the GLM procedure in Minitab. The generation showed effect on the numbers of total born and males and tended to affect the total number of piglets born alive per litters. However, the generation did not appear to affect the numbers of stillborn piglets. The year of farrowing showed the overall effect on the numbers of piglets total born. [...].
