A first prototype of virtual reality based system for screening patients with visual dynamic acuity disorders was presented. The prototype system uses low cost virtual reality headset Oculus Rift 2 with built in head orientation tracker and custom developed software for Unity game engine. There were four tests implemented for investigation of visual acuity: static acuity, dynamic acuity, and dynamic-left and dynamic-right acuity. Low price, high sensor accuracy and low latency of the system allows building potentially new diagnostics tests in near future. The only limiting factor that stops from using it now is significantly too low screen resolution. We see a potential with upcoming 4k resolution Super AMOLED screens for mobile devices.
