INTRODUCTION Acute NVUGIB is a common medical emergency associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Adequate patient assessment and management are paramount in achieving satisfactory outcomes. There is a lack of studies evaluating the need for prognostic scale usage in clinical practice. What is more, single-center population-based studies may be useful in analysing and comparing management tendencies and outcomes between different centers. AIM We aimed to assess the etiology, management, and outcomes of the patients - repetitive bleeding frequency and mortality rate according to Glasgow-Blatchford and Rockall score values.METHODS A retrospective study analysed 690 patients admitted to the departments of Gastroenterology and General surgery due to NVUGIB between 2012 – 2014. We obtained Centre of Bioethics at LUHS permission. Calculate by the QxMD application was used to assess the risk scores for each patient. Emergency endoscopy was defined as endoscopy performed within 24 hours after first patientdoctor contact at the hospital. Data were analysed using SPSS v25 statistical package. The Student’s t-test was used to compare the means for normally distributed data. Qualitative data were given in absolute value and percentage (%), quantitative data was presented in means and standard deviation in brackets. Chi-square criterion (χ2) was used to estimate their differences. For verification of hypothesis significance level of p<0,05 was chosen.[...].
