Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the choice of investigation for this pathology. Classic MRI scans and especially invertion recovery (IR) demonstrate a band of subcortical grey matter heterotopia underlying the cortical mantle and separated from it by a thin rim of white matter. Neuronal migration anomalies represent a broad group of conditions that include agyria, pachygyria, polymicrogyria, hemimegaloencephaly, schizencephaly, and gray matter heterotopias. [...].
