Introduction Diabetes mellitus is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects pancreatic β cells, resulting in insulin deficiency or absence, and is generally divided into two types [1,2]. Recently, LADA (Latent autoimmune diabetes of adults) has been identified as a separate type of diabetes that shares features of both DM types [3]. Considering the similarity in symptoms, it is not uncommon for patients to be misdiagnosed, leading to incorrect monitoring and treatment [4]. [...].
