Cardiovascular diseases are the major cause of morbidity and mortality in Lithuania and worldwide increasing disability and decreasing satisfaction of life. The tendency of patients’ to get ill younger have been noticed recently. Due to that the absolute amount of people having cardiovascular diseases have increased, their habitude and quality of life have changed. The aim of this study is to assess the quality of life of people after repetitive acute ischemic syndrome, to elucidate the changes in habitude of mentioned patients and to find out the main sources of information used by patients in order to change their health habitude. 50 patients after repetitive acute ischemic syndrome who had been treated in Lithuanian Health Sciences university Kaunas Clinics Ischemic heart disease sectory and Heart failure sectory in 2016-2017 were surveyd. The quality of life index have been assessed using Ferrans and Powers quality of life heart version questionnaire. Furthermore, patients were asked what sources of information they had used to change their habitude and what habitude they changed afterwards. Data analysis is made using SPSS Statistics version 21 (Mann -Whithney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Pearson, Spearman‘s correlations). The average age of patients is 71.2 (+/- 23), the quality of life index is 21.9 (+/-10.3) on average. The quality of life index is inversely proportional to age of the respondents. Men tend to have higher quality of life index than women (p=0.008), married respondents tend to have higher quality of life index than divorced and widows (p=0.016) and employed respondents tend to have higher quality of life than pensioners (p=0.002). 46 percent of respondents changed their habitude after first acute ischemic syndrome: changed their eating habits, quit bad habits such as smoking.
