INTRODUCTION Cardiovascular diseases are the major cause of morbidity and mortality in Lithuania and worldwide increasing disability. They are also the cause of decreasing satisfaction of life. The tendency of patients’ to get ill younger have been noticed recently. Due to that the absolute amount of people having cardiovascular diseases has increased and their habitude and quality of life has changed. AIM The aim of this study was to assess the quality of life of people who had a repetitive acute ischemic syndrome, to evaluate changes in their habitude and to find out the main sources of information they used in order to change their health habitude.METHODS 50 patients with the repetitive acute ischemic syndrome who were treated at the Ischemic Heart Disease and Heart failure Departments of the Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kauno klinikos in 2016-2017 years have been surveyed. The quality of life index was evaluated using Ferrans and Powers quality of life questionnaire the heart version. Furthermore, patients were asked what sources of information they used to change their habitudes and what habitudes they had changed afterwards. Data analysis was made using SPSS Statistics version 21 (Mann -Whithney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Pearson, Spearman‘s correlations). RESULTS The average age of patients was 71.2 (+/- 23). The mean result of the quality of life index questionnare was 21.9 (+/-10.3). The quality of life index questionnare results were inversely proportional to the age of the respondents. Men tend to have a higher quality of life index than women (p=0.008), married respondents tend to have a higher quality of life index than divorced and widowed (p=0.016) and employed respondents tend to have a higher quality of life than pensioners (p=0.002). 46 [...].
