Abstract (en)
An electron microscopic investigation was carried out of the nervous plexuses of the rabbit heart, particularly those innervating the sinoatrial node. The analysis of electrograms has shown that subepicardial nerve fibers (NF) are densely covered with lemmocyte processes isolating the adjacent NF membranes. The neuroplasma of NF has no transmitter vesicles in the subepicardial nerves. They occur in the myocardial plexus where the nerves are devoid of perineural coating and disperse into separate groups of NF. [...].
