Siekiant ištirti socialinio darbuotojo vaidmenį psichikos ligomis sergančių asmenų psichosocialinėje reabilitacijoje 2006 m. buvo atliktas tyrimas, kuriame dalyvavo 32 socialiniai darbuotojai, dirbantys psichikos sveikatos priežiūros įstaigose. Anketinė apklausa atlikta Kauno miesto ir Kauno rajono psichikos sveikatos priežiūros įstaigose ir organizacijose.
In social work is very important comprehension to believe peoples, their choice values in intercommunication. Medical and public health social workers provide persons, families, or vulnerable populations with the psychosocial support needed to cope with chronic, acute, or terminal illnesses. Such services include individual and group therapy, outreach, crisis intervention, social rehabilitation, and training in skills of everyday living. They may also help plan for supportive services to ease patients’ return to the community. Psychiatric health and substance abuse social workers are likely to work in hospitals, substance abuse treatment centers, individual and family services agencies, or local governments. These social workers may be known as clinical social workers. Social worker’s roles are very important in psychosocial rehabilitation. Sometimes, social workers roles are depending on social service plans and all public organizations. In work are talking about social workers functions and roles, social workers importance in psychiatrics health care. Also, in this work are discussing about social security service and psychiatry’s health care essential legitimate documents. Item is talk about psychosocial rehabilitation importance for people, who ill psychiatric diseases. In this diploma’s work are discuses about psychosocial rehabilitation methodic and variants, which setting to help psychiatrics patients integrate in this social environment.
