Abstract (en)
The goal of this project was to define by double whole-cell patch clamp the characteristics of cell-cell coupling in homo- and heterocellular pairs formed between Schwann cells and fibroblasts. The cells were isolated from 1-2 day old neonatal rat sciatic nerve. Schwann cell pairs exhibited strong and symmetrical dependence of steady state coupling conductance, g1(ss)-V, on transjunctional potential, Vj. In contrast, in fibroblasts the g1(ss)-Vj was more sensitive to vJ when the potential from the side of the Schwann cell was negative. [...].
