Aim: Amputation of the arm; Treatment and reconstruction: A Case Report. Method: Male of 31 years, experienced domestic trauma with a circular saw. The patient was consulted by a plastic surgeon. During the examination, amputation of the left arm was observed in the wrist. Surgical treatment, the hand replantation was recommended. The patient had a reconstructive surgery of deep flexor tendons, median and ulnar nerves, radial and ulnar arteries, and four veins reconstruction. Wrist, ulnar and radius bones was fixed with wires*. After surgery hand immobilized for 8 weeks. Conservative treatment was applied. Pentoxifylline 600 mg 2 times a day, Aspirin 100 mg 1 time a day, Cefadroxi l 500 mg 2 times a day, Group B vitamins were given, and recommended wound bandaging with an antiseptic wound and mocous membrane treatment** every 2 days. After treatment, surgical wounds healed by primary intention, scars without signs of hypertrophy. The wires* removed 7 weeks after surgery. Rehabilitation and physiotherapy procedures were applied. Extension and blood flow of the arm was restored, and the sensory in the hand partly recovered. 2 months after treatment wounds healed completely, arm function partly restored. Results / Discussion: Surgical wounds healed by primary intention, during the examination scars without signs of hypertrophy. The function of the arm hasn’t fully recovered, there are disorders of the hand extension and flexion, and sensory function, bloodflow completely recovered. The patient is returned to normal life.
