Abstract (en)
The nucleus of the tractus solitarii (NTS) in the medulla is the site of termination of the primary baroreceptor afferents that encode blood pressure in the aortic arch and corotid sinuses. The pulse-rhythmic neurons discharging synchronously with cardiac cycle are found in the NTS. Until now the data about the relation of these discharges to the pulse wave are scarce. The present study was undertaken to characterize the activity patterns of the pulse-rhythmic neurons in relation to the pulse wave. [...].
