Abstract (en)
The activity of pulse-rhythmic (PA) found in the solitary tract nucleus is very similar to the arterial baroreceptor activity. Since the afferents from baroreceptors end in this nucleus, there is doubt that, in some cases, the PA is recorded from the axon terminals of the first-order neurons and not from the cell bodies of the second-order neurons. In an attempt to distinguish the axonal impulses from the impulses of the cell body, the form and duration of impulses of the pulse-rhythmic, respiratory and other neurons located in the same nucleus were analyzed.
