Abstract
Objective of this work - to determine macro-mineral status suring indoor period in blood and to analyze relationship Ca between Mg, Na, K and P in the sera of cows. Materials and methods. 56 Lithuanian Black and White cows were investigated during indoor period. The cows were_in the 2-3 month of postpartum period, from 3.2 ± 0.24 lactation. Blood samples were taken from each cow's tail vein into vacuum tubes without an anticoagulant. (Venoject II, Terumo Europe, Belgium) at 06 a. m. before feeding. Sera of blood was obtained following a centrifugation at 3000 rpm for 10 min, stored at -20°C and transported to the laboratory for the analysis. the following parameters were analyzed: calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), inorganic phosphorus (P), potassium (K), sodium (Na). Sera parameters were determined using "COBAS INTEGRA 400 plus" blood analyzer Tegimenta Ltd Roche, Switzerland). The experiment was organized taking into consideration ethical requirements on animal rights protection in accordance with the legislation and requirements on animal welfare. The cows were divided into two groups according to the Ca concentration: group I (n=3) - less than 2.25 mmol/l and group II (n=23) from 2.25 mmol/l to 2.72 mmol.l in blood. Standard descriptive statistics (mean and standard error) was calculated. Significance was indicated by p<0.05 using the statistical software SPSS (version 15, SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL). [...].
