Sometimes it&#8217;s more difficult and complex. In this lecture we will explore how art therapy techniques can aid in adding a third medium into the conversation, which might help in making difficult topics more manageable, on both a cognitive and emotional level. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ann Maes <\/strong>is an art therapist who started her art therapy career working with teenagers at a specialized psychiatric forensic youth unit and is currently working in a day treatment program for teenagers and adolescents at a university psychiatric center. Before pursuing an art therapy degree, Ann worked in residential drug rehabilitation and child, youth and family services in Belgium and gained experience working with families at a community center in New Zealand. Ann is a member of the Belgian Federation for Creative Arts Therapies (BVCT-ABAT) and a lecturer for the Advanced Bachelor program in Creative Arts Therapies at PXL University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hasselt, Belgium.
