As is customary, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) will host Culture Week from 12 to 16 May. The purpose of this event is to unite the university community and encourage them to break away from their daily routines and participate in cultural events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quiet Escapes<\/em> is this year’s Culture Week theme, encouraging everyone to take a break and learn new strategies for living a healthy existence. In addition to studying different relaxation techniques, we will also learn how to take care of ourselves, maintain composure in dynamic modern settings, and strike a balance between work and play. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

LSMU Culture Week will provide an opportunity to pause and savour earthly delights, such as interacting with animals, participating in an engaging competition, and experiencing new things through excursions to as-yet-undiscovered locations inside the University and Kaunas city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TAKE PART IN THE COMPETITION<\/strong>!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Do you play chess, meditate, go for walks or exercise during your breaks? Capture how you and your fellow community members at the University prefer to take a short break from your studies and work and stand a chance to win a food delivery voucher!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Send your photos to kultura@lsmu.lt<\/a> by 9 May. A total of 5 teams will be awarded. The winners will be drawn at random and announced on 16 May \u2013 the final day of LSMU Culture Week Quiet Escapes<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the LSMU Wild Animal Rescue Centre, we invite the University community to participate in an interesting educational activity. Together we will make toys for the animals at the Centre and get to know the Centre\u2019s activities and environment during a tour. For animals, we will produce toys from our own items, which we can often find at home: Cardboard boxes, cardboard rolls from toilet paper rolls or kitchen rolls, thick threads and cords, packing paper (paper only, can be coloured), gift wrapping ribbon (fabric, cords, paper).
Also, if you want to, you can bring and donate the following items to the Centre: Dog toys, balls (plastic, football, basketball balls), cardboard boxes (suitable from small boxes from tea, but not plastic), cardboard rolls from toilet paper rolls or kitchen rolls, empty cardboard boxes from eggs, unused towels, blankets, bedding, blankets, jumpers (without zippers and buttons), fruits, vegetables (leaf vegetables, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, carrots) nuts (raw, unsalted), seeds (sunflower, pumpkin)\u00a0 nappies, children\u2019s mobiles.
A bus will be booked for the participants to travel to the Wild Animal Rescue Centre and back. The places for the event are limited, therefore advance registration is required. As the event date approaches, we will provide more specific details on the event.

Kaunas Old Town <\/td>		A Walk on the Rooftops<\/strong>
A great opportunity to take a walk in the heart of Kaunas, on the rooftops of the old town. We will climb on the rooftops of Kaunas Cathedral, Church of St. Francis Xavier and Kaunas Archdiocese. We will hear historical stories. The tour will be led by LSMU chaplain Mons. A. Jagelavi\u010dius. The places for the event are limited, therefore advance registration is required. Those wishing to visit the 21st<\/sup> century catacombs will be able to try out the museum of the blind (the cost of visiting the Catacombs is 3 EUR per person).
