There are no compulsory study subjects for doctoral students in the fields of BIOLOGY <\/strong>(N 010), BIOPHYSICS <\/strong>(N 011), VETERINARY<\/strong> (A 002), and ANIMAL SCIENCES<\/strong> (A 003).<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

DISERTATION DEFENSE<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A doctoral student may defend his\/her dissertation after:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • passing the exams provided for in the doctoral study program;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • publishing the most important research results in at least two articles (serving as the sole or primary author of at least one), in international scientific publications indexed in Clarivate Analytics Web of Science (CA WoS) with a citation index or assigned a DOI. Submitted publications must not duplicate key research results from previously defended dissertations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • presenting the research results at least at two international scientific conferences or events;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • receiving approval from the departmental meeting of researchers where the doctoral candidate is enrolled, attended by the scientific supervisor and consultants (where possible), confirming that the dissertation is properly prepared and ready for defense. Minutes of the meeting are submitted to the Research Affairs Center.
    After the end of the doctoral study period and if the dissertation has not been defended within 12 months from the end of doctoral studies, the dissertation may be defended externally in accordance with the requirements in force at that time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The dissertation candidate submits an application to the Rector of the University for permission to defend the dissertation, attaching:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. the dissertation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. a list of published scientific works on the dissertation topic, certified by a library staff, along with copies of the publications;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. an extract from the minutes of the departmental researchers’ meeting confirming the dissertation’s suitability for defense at the council meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      The Rector forwards the documents to the doctoral committee of the relevant scientific field. Upon reviewing the dissertation and confirming it meets all requirements, the committee approves the composition of the defense council and the defense date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
