{"id":17933,"date":"2022-04-13T17:35:30","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T14:35:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lsmu.lt\/studies\/studies\/akademinis-judumas\/akademiniai-mainai\/"},"modified":"2026-10-26T14:04:27","modified_gmt":"2026-10-26T12:04:27","slug":"erasmus-studies","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lsmu.lt\/en\/for-students\/studies\/academic-mobility\/erasmus-studies\/","title":{"rendered":"Erasmus+ studies for outgoing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-35680232 wp-block-paragraph\">Erasmus+ programme supports the academic exchange of students between the higher education institutions of the participating countries and enables students to spend an integrated period of study at a higher education institution in another country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-1968af65 wp-block-paragraph\">Academic mobility provides an opportunity to receive study, linguistic and cultural benefits from the learning experience, to develop highly qualified, broad-minded young professionals with foreign experience.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-8192f9d6 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-17077862 wp-block-paragraph\">The following students enrolled in part-time and full-time studies of all study cycles (first, second and third) at LSMU are eligible to carry out an Erasmus+ studies:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-33566392\">Bachelor\u2019s degree students;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Master\u2019s degree students;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrated study programmes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Doctoral students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>IMPORTANT!<\/strong> Students who are on study leave cannot participate in calls for applications or go abroad for Erasmus+ studies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-1a13a925 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>WHERE CAN YOU GO?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-2cb7135d wp-block-paragraph\">The Erasmus+ studies are carried out in the framework of inter-institutional agreements between partner universities. These agreements specify the number of students, field and cycle of study, and duration of the exchange.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-0a0837af wp-block-paragraph\">LSMU collaborates with more than 200 exchange partners across the world. These countries are divided into Erasmus Programme countries (i.e., the 27 European Union Member States, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey, and North Macedonia) and Erasmus+ Partner Countries (i.e., the remaining countries worldwide).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-e5d443d7 wp-block-paragraph\">Erasmus exchange possibilities depend on your study programme and faculty in which you are enrolled.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1bW-mTf5VRckklkI8kMomLPMc0yqlsiLZ\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LIST OF ERASMUS+ PARTNER UNIVERSITIES<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n    <\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"prose md:prose-lg\">\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container\">\n        <div class=\"acc-set\">\n\t                                                            <div class=\"acc-item\" id=\"erasmus-study-duration-and-extension\">\n                                                    <div class=\"acc-head\">\n                                Erasmus+ study duration and extension                            <\/div>\n                                                                            <div class=\"acc-c\">\n                                <div class=\"prose md:prose-lg\">\n                                    \n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-611476d6 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Erasmus+ study duration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-d7860438 wp-block-paragraph\">The duration of the mobility period depends on the terms of the inter-institutional agreement signed with the host university. Depending on these terms, students may go abroad for one trimester, one semester, or an entire academic year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-98ac0521 wp-block-paragraph\">Erasmus+ study mobility may last <strong>from 2 to 12 months within one academic year<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-04dc6620 wp-block-paragraph\">The same student may participate in Erasmus+ study mobility more than once. However, the <strong>total duration of Erasmus+ mobility<\/strong> (including both Erasmus+ studies and traineeships) must not exceed:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>12 months per each study cycle<\/strong> (Bachelor\u2019s, Master\u2019s, and Doctoral studies).\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>24 months for integrated study programmes<\/strong> (Medicine, Odontology, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine).\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-d522da8b wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Extension of the Erasmus+ study period<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-92005d07 wp-block-paragraph\">If the Erasmus+ study period is shorter than one full academic year, it may be extended to a maximum of one academic year, but only in exceptional cases, and this should be approved by both the sending and receiving institutions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-b328bca7 wp-block-paragraph\">An extension of the study period is possible under the following conditions:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All changes related to the inter-institutional agreements and the student&#8217;s Learning Agreement must be formalized in advance, before the current Erasmus+ study period ends.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-4dd6bbf0\">The study period cannot be extended beyond the summer holidays or after the end of the academic year for which the Erasmus+ grant was awarded.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-4b405506 wp-block-paragraph\">During the extended study period, the student may continue to receive the Erasmus+ grant at the established rate, or continue their studies with a \u201czero-grant\u201d status (see the Financial Support section).\u00a0<\/p>\n                                <\/div>\n                            <\/div>\n                                            <\/div>\n                                                                                            <div class=\"acc-item\" id=\"erasmus-study-selection-process\">\n                                                    <div class=\"acc-head\">\n                                Erasmus+ study selection process                            <\/div>\n                                                                            <div class=\"acc-c\">\n                                <div class=\"prose md:prose-lg\">\n                                    \n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-37bf88ed wp-block-paragraph\">The main call for Erasmus+ applications at LSMU takes place every year in <strong>January-February<\/strong>. It is intended for students who wish to study abroad during the following academic year or the autumn semester.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-0e1e4358 wp-block-paragraph\">Two additional calls for applications may be announced to fill the remaining available places: <strong>in March-April<\/strong> (for the following academic year and the autumn semester) and <strong>in September<\/strong> (for the spring semester).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-6899b23b wp-block-paragraph\">Students may apply during their first year of studies at LSMU. Students are advised to consider the content of the proposed courses\/modules and the number of ECYS credits.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>IMPORTANT<strong>!<\/strong> <\/strong>While participating in an Erasmus+ study mobility abroad, students are not eligible to apply for another Erasmus+ study exchange; however, they may apply for an Erasmus+ traineeship.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"page-content\">\n\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t\n\t\t<div class=\"tabs-h mt-2 mt:mt-16 py-2\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"h-tabs mb-2 md:mb-14 js-tabs full\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t    <li class=\"current\"><a href=\"#tab-0\">STUDY PLAN<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t        \t\t\t\t\t    <li class=\"\"><a href=\"#tab-1\">SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t        \t\t\t\t\t    <li class=\"\"><a href=\"#tab-2\">FOREIGN LANGUAGE EXAMINATION<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t        \t\t\t\t\t    <li class=\"\"><a href=\"#tab-3\">MOTIVATION<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t        \t\t\t\t\t    <li class=\"\"><a href=\"#tab-4\">THE FINAL SCORE<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t        \t\t\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"tab-c active\" id=\"tab-0\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"prose md:prose-lg\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Before filling out the application form, students should review the study programmes offered by the host university. They should check the compatibility of the study programme offered by the host university with the LSMU study programme. It is important to prepare a preliminary study plan to ensure that, upon successful completion, the credits earned will be recognized at LSMU.<\/p>\n<p>The standard academic workload is <strong>60 ECTS<\/strong> credits per academic year, <strong>30 ECTS<\/strong> credits per semester, and <strong>15-18 ECTS<\/strong> credits per trimester. Student are expected to attend classes and to participate in assessments for all courses, as required by the host university.<\/p>\n<p>Information about the study programmes offered by host universities can be found on their websites by using keywords such as \u201cErasmus+ studies\u201d, \u201cErasmus+ incoming\u201d, and similar terms.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"tab-c \" id=\"tab-1\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"prose md:prose-lg\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 8px;\">Students who wish to study abroad under the Erasmus+ studies program must <strong>fill out the electronic application form and upload the required documents<\/strong> by the set date on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.service4mobility.com\/europe\/MessageServlet?msg=No+application+possible+at+the+moment.+The+application+period+has+expired%21%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3EThe+application+period+was+2026-08-28+00%3A00%3A00+-+2026-09-28+23%3A59%3A00&amp;msgButtonURL=close&amp;isClearScrolled=1&amp;msgButtonLabel=Close+window\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Mobility Online platform<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 8px;\"><strong>IMPORTANT!<\/strong> Completing the application involves several steps, so it is essential to carefully follow all the instructions provided by the system and ensure that no mandatory steps are skipped.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 8px;\">Students are notified via the Mobility Online platform when their application and required documents have been properly submitted and verified <em>(\u201cApplication documents checked and marked by International Office as complete\u201d)<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>The application form can only be completed once the selection call has been announced.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"tab-c \" id=\"tab-2\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"prose md:prose-lg\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\"><strong>Foreign language (English, German, French) exam is not required for:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0;\">\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">International students (just for English language);<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Native speakers of French or German;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Holders of language certificate B2 level and higher;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">Students who have a final grade of professional language module.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 12px;\">Foreign language (English, German, and French) examination for the Erasmus exchange programme: <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1TL5gtReOEvsB8W4GRQ0Sm-GnYjoaZwdz\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">structure and evaluation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"tab-c \" id=\"tab-3\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"prose md:prose-lg\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\"><strong>MOTIVATIONAL VIDEO<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0;\">\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 8px;\">When completing the application, students are required to provide a link to their self-recorded motivational video (with public access). Detailed instructions are available after logging in to their Mobility Online account.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">After the application deadline, the members of the LSMU Erasmus+ Selection Committee assess the student&#8217;s <strong>motivation<\/strong> to study at the selected host university, <strong>level of community involvement at LSMU<\/strong>, and <strong>communication skills<\/strong>. A separate Erasmus+ Selection Committee is established for each faculty. It usually consists of faculty representatives, such as study programme coordinators or academic coordinators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 12px;\">Each Committee member assesses the student&#8217;s motivation, community involvement, and communication skills on a scale of 0 to 10 points (with an interval of 1 point). The scores awarded by all Committee members are then added together, and the overall average is calculated.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"tab-c \" id=\"tab-4\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"prose md:prose-lg\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">The final score is calculated after selection: Grade Point Average (<strong>60%<\/strong>) + Motivation and Community Involvement (<strong>30%<\/strong>) + Communication Skills (<strong>10%<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0;\">The maximum score is 10, but students can receive additional points also for:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0;\">\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">Participation in the Erasmus+ mentorship programme for at least 2 semesters \u2013 <strong>0.5 point<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">First-time Erasmus+ study mobility \u2013 <strong>0.3 point<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">Erasmus+ mobility in a country other than the student\u2019s country of origin \u2013 <strong>0.3 point<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 12px;\">Additional points are added to the final score of the selection. Based on the final score, students are ranked in the competition to get an Erasmus+ grant for studies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\"><strong>ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE SELECTION RESULTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0;\">Selected students receive an email confirming the selection results at the email address they provided. Students are also informed by email about the next steps in the process. Individual meetings and consultations are arranged as needed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\"><strong>APPEALS REGARDING ERASMUS+ SELECTION RESULTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0;\">A participant who disagrees with the Erasmus+ selection results may submit an appeal by email (<a href=\"mailto:mobility@lsmu.lt\">mobility@lsmu.lt<\/a>) to the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator within five working days of receiving the results.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0;\">The appeal is reviewed by a committee composed of the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator, the Dean of the relevant LSMU Faculty, and the Coordinator of the Academic Mobility Division of the LSMU TRSC. The committee shall make a decision within 10 working days of receiving the appeal, and the student will be informed of the decision within two working days by email.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"container\">\n\t<div class=\"prose md:prose-lg\">\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n                                <\/div>\n                            <\/div>\n                                            <\/div>\n                                                                                            <div class=\"acc-item\" id=\"erasmus-documents\">\n                                                    <div class=\"acc-head\">\n                                Erasmus+ documents                            <\/div>\n                                                                            <div class=\"acc-c\">\n                                <div class=\"prose md:prose-lg\">\n                                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"page-content\">\n\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t\n\t\t<div class=\"tabs-h mt-2 mt:mt-16 py-2\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"h-tabs mb-2 md:mb-14 js-tabs full\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t    <li class=\"current\"><a href=\"#tab-0\">Before Erasmus+ studies<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t        \t\t\t\t\t    <li class=\"\"><a href=\"#tab-1\">During Erasmus+ studies<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t        \t\t\t\t\t    <li class=\"\"><a href=\"#tab-2\">After Erasmus+ studies<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t        \t\t\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"tab-c active\" id=\"tab-0\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"prose md:prose-lg\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Students selected for Erasmus + study at LSMU must complete the application documents by the application deadline set by the host university. What documents are required, by what date and at what address they can be sent, the student must find out by himself\/herself by reviewing the website of the host university (e.g., section: incoming Erasmus + students).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">The main documents can be:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"margin-top: 0;\">\n<li><em>Application Form<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Learning Agreement<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Transcript of Records<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Accommodation Form<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Application Form.<\/strong> The students need to provide personal data, information about the sending institution, the period of Erasmus+ studies at a host university, foreign language proficiency, and work experience. Sometimes students are required to submit a short motivation letter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\"><strong>Learning Agreement.<\/strong> This is a tripartite agreement (student, LSMU and host institution), which clearly defines the study programme: chosen courses, duration, and the number of ECTS credits. Based on a study programme and course descriptions submitted by a foreign university, the student prepares the study programme for the period that they will study at a foreign university. The subjects chosen by the student and their volume in ECTS credits should, as far as possible, coincide with the study programme of the academic year at LSMU.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-top: 0;\">This Learning Agreement must be signed by the student, the faculty departmental coordinator and the host university coordinator.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/learning-agreement.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Online Learning Agreement (OLA)<\/strong><\/a> must be completed on the OLA platform after consulting with the faculty departmental coordinator.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Transcript of Records.<\/strong> All completed subjects by the student before the Erasmus+ studies are reflected in the Transcript of Records. It is not only in ECTS credits but also in grades based on the local and ECTS grade scales. The Transcript of Records is signed by the Dean of the Faculty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\"><strong>Accommodation Form.<\/strong> Registration form for accommodations. The student is usually required to provide personal information and the duration of stay. The student\u2019s application must be signed by the Vice-Dean of the Faculty. The Request to the Rector must be submitted to the International Relations and Study Centre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Grant Agreement.<\/strong> At least 1 month before the start of Erasmus+ studies, the student must provide personal data required for the grant contract. This is a financial agreement that governs the procedure of paying a grant. The grant contract is signed between the LSMU and the student.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Visa.<\/strong> The student must look for information about a visa or temporary residence permit. It is recommended that this information would be checked at the Embassy of the country where the student will study as an Erasmus+ student.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Insurance.<\/strong> All students must have a valid European Health Insurance Card. The EHIC covers treatment that is medically necessary until your planned return home. EHIC is not an alternative to travel insurance. It will not cover any private medical healthcare or costs. Students who will study in non-EU countries must have a valid private health insurance plan that is valid in non-EU countries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Confirmation letter.<\/strong> If the host university asks to provide this document, it can be issued by the International Relations and Study Centre at LSMU.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>OLS Language test.<\/strong> All students must complete 1<sup>st<\/sup> language test before the Erasmus+ study period (except native speakers).
