We share knowledge in various improvement courses. Our Department has strong theoretical and clinical experience, as it is a centre for the treatment of various musculoskeletal diseases and complex injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students acquire practical and theoretical skills at LSMU Hospital, the largest hospital in the Baltic States. At LSMU Hospital, the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology has two units: Orthopaedic surgery \u2013 60 beds, and mixed trauma section \u2013 25 beds. We have 21 orthopaedists, of which 11 have defended their doctoral degree. They perform:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hip, knee, ankle, shoulder and elbow endoprosthesis surgeries including primary conventional, articular renewal, minimally invasive, one-sided knee, repeated (revision) and total hip replacement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arthroscopic surgery as: shoulder Bandart, Latarjet, Bristol surgery, rotator cuff, keystone dislocation reconstruction, knee anterior and posterior cruciate ligament, posterolateral and internal complex, patella instability, ankle ligament reconstruction, autologous transplantation or autologous chondrocyte transplantation, meniscus transplantation, Latissimus dorsi transposition, Osgood-Schlatter and Haglund arthroscopic resection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other surgeries: Acute and poly-trauma, pseudarthroses, oncology, osteomyelitis cases, deformation correction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"page-content\">\n\n\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"tabs-h mt-10\">\n\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"js-tabs full-color-tabs\">\n\t\t\t\t                    \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"current\" id=\"studies\"><a href=\"#tab-01\">Studies<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t                    \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li  id=\"research\"><a href=\"#tab-02\">Research<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"tab-c bordered active\" id=\"tab-01\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"prose md:prose-lg\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>In the Medical Programme, we have different courses:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First-year students are offered a \u201cfirst aid\u201d course;<\/li>\n<li>For second-year students \u2013 \u201cmobility\u201d module;<\/li>\n<li>For the fourth-year students \u2013 support-mobile apparatus disease, intensive and urgent medicine module;<\/li>\n<li>Sixth-year students \u2013 \u201cchosen scientific work\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"tab-c bordered \" id=\"tab-02\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"prose md:prose-lg\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li>Orthopaedists traumatologists are active in scientific works, they publish a lot of publications in orthopaedic journals, for example Journal of Arthroplasty; Acta Orthopaedica; Hip International; International Orthopaedics; BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders; Orthopaedics; Foot&amp;Ankle International; Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy; Journal of Paediatric Orthopaedics; Arthroscopy etc.<\/li>\n<li>2011 The Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology has established and administers the Lithuanian Endoprosthesis Register.\u00a02011 The Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology has implemented a fast-track programme in case of hip fracture in proximal part.
