{"id":97036,"date":"2024-08-22T15:11:38","date_gmt":"2024-08-22T12:11:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lsmu.lt\/?p=97036"},"modified":"2024-09-18T14:29:04","modified_gmt":"2024-09-18T11:29:04","slug":"open-call-for-the-competition-for-the-allocation-of-support-to-lithuanians-living-abroad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lsmu.lt\/en\/open-call-for-the-competition-for-the-allocation-of-support-to-lithuanians-living-abroad\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Call for the Competition for the Allocation of Support to Lithuanians Living Abroad"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The State Studies Foundation announces that a competition for the allocation of state support for the studies of Lithuanians living abroad at Lithuanian higher education institutions is open starting 16 August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two types of support are available to Lithuanians living abroad: a scholarship and\/or a social allowance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The monthly scholarship<\/strong> is 178.75 EUR.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The social allowance <\/strong>is a one-time payment, granted in view of the applicant\u2019s social situation (ranging from 232 EUR to 319 EUR).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lithuanians living abroad who are studying at Lithuanian higher education institutions and wish to apply for state support for the autumn semester of 2024 shall complete the following steps between 16 August 16 2024 and 30 September 2024:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. Register on the Foundation\u2019s website and fill out the online application form. Applications for support are submitted online on the Foundation\u2019s website by logging in via electronic banking or electronic signature systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. First-time applicants applying for the support must submit documents confirming their status as Lithuanians living abroad before the application deadline. The required documents include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A copy of a document issued by a local Lithuanian community or another institution confirming Lithuanian descent,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or copies of documents proving they have lived abroad for at least 3 years and, upon returning the Republic of Lithuania, began studies in grades 8\u201310 or grades I\u2013IV of a gymnasium.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. Students applying for the social allowance must indicate the social criterion under which they are applying for the allowance in the application and must provide the Foundation with the supporting documents (e.g. birth certificates, death certificates, etc.) or certified copies by the application deadline as a proof of their social situation, unless informed otherwise by the Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. All documents issued by foreign institutions and submitted to the Foundation must be translated into Lithuanian and legalised or certified with an Apostille, unless international agreements of the Republic of Lithuania or EU legislation provide otherwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Director of the Foundation will issue a decision on granting or denying support to Lithuanians living abroad no later than 10 working days after the application period closes. Higher education institutions will be informed of the decision by email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In-person consultations at the State Studies Foundation are available by prior appointment only, arranged with a Foundation specialist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Additional documents may be submitted:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>As electronic documents via email to <a href=\"mailto:fondas@vsf.lt\">fondas@vsf.lt<\/a> or through the information system at <a href=\"https:\/\/epristatymas.lt\">https:\/\/epristatymas.lt<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By post to: A. Go\u0161tauto g. 12-407, 01108 Vilnius.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Placed in the mailbox located by A. Go\u0161tauto g. 12, Vilnius.
