Dr. Regina Mačianskienė earned her Ph.D. in 1988 from the Kyiv Institute of Physiology in Ukraine. She completed research fellowships at KU Leuven (Belgium) and the Pacific Biomedical Research Center in Hawaii (USA), where she studied cellular signaling in the context of health and disease. She is currently the chief researcher and head of the Laboratory of Membrane Biophysics at the Institute of Cardiology (LUHS). Her research interests include cardiomyocyte dysfunction, cardiac electrical remodeling, and the development of cardiotropic drugs. She has 61 research publications, three international patents, and research grants from the National Institutes of Health, the European Social Fund, and the Belgian and Lithuanian Research Council Foundations.
