Abstract
Background and importance. Vein of Galen aneurysmal malformation (VGAM) is a rare intracranial vascular anomaly and it has been estimated to represent about 1% of all central nerve system vascular malformations. There is a lack of treatment experience and evaluation of treatment outcomes because of the rarity and complexity of such a pathology. Clinical presentation. We report a full-term male neonate with respiratory distress and severe heart failure soon after birth. US, MRI and CT angiography of the brain confirmed a diagnosis of high flow gigantic VGAM with the dilated feeders from all the main cerebral arteries. [...].
