Modification of physical properties of polymer gels due to radiation induced polymerization and cross-linking processes in polymer structures is related to the absorbed doses. It is possible to obtain 3D-dose distributions in the irradiated objects however dose calibration should be performed prior to dose evaluation. Dose calibration of low dose gamma irradiated normoxic PAG gels is discussed in the present paper. Optical properties of home made polymer gels irradiated in medical 60Co unit have been investigated and absorption coefficients were evaluated. These coefficients have been used for the construction of dose calibration curves. It was found that the irradiated polymer gels are sensitive enough to record low doses. Since proposed calibration method is although real time sensitive, the limitations of the method are discussed.
