Abstract (en)
The aim of the study is to determine peculiarities of lung ventiliation and diffusion, atopy presentation, protease-antiprotease system and heavy metals balance of patients with OAD. Clinical, functional (spirometry, broncodilatation test, lung diffusion, body plethysmography), laboratory [eosinophil count, neutrophil activity, α₁-antitrypsin ( α₁-AT), total IgE, Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd levels in serum], instrumental (allergic skin provocative tests, lung x-ray) investigations were performed to 37 patients with OAD. Chronic obstructive bronchitis (COB) was diagnosed in 17; lung emphysema (LE), in 15; bronchial asthma (BA), in 5 patients. All the patients were in the phase of disease remission. [...].
