Abstract (en)
Introduction Postoperative analgesia remain a relevant issue after hepato-pancreato-biliary operations. Postoperative pain impairs patients' quality of life, time spent in hospital and development of various postoperative complications [1]. Many methods have been introduced into clinical practice for pain management, however none of those proved to be ideal for HPB patients. Aim The goal of this research is to compare pain intensity and opioid consumption after HPB surgeries in patients with different postoperative analgesia methods: abdominal wall catheters and ropivacaine infusion vs. standard systemic analgesia used in the Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kaunas Clinics for HPB patients.
