As the first author, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for the assistance in preparing this summary of the history of Lithuanian dermatology to all of the heads of the various dermatological units, in particular to the professors J. Lelis, G. Balevičienė and I. Marčiukaitiene, and to the former president of the Lithuanian Dermatovenerological Society, Dr G. Lapinskaitė, and to the president, Dr M. Bylaite, as well as to the colleagues at the Museum of Lithuanian Medicine and Pharmacy, the assistant to the Chair of Foreign Languages and education, Ms. E. Latvelienė, the head of the Student Association for Dermatology at the University of Kaunas medical school, Ms. G. Laurynaitė, the historian at the Department of Old and Rare Collections of the Kaunas Library, Mr. A. Surblys, and finally to the photographer, Mr. D. Keras. In the process of writing this my own knowledge of the history of my own county and of the history of dermatology was expanded immensely.
