Abstract (en)
The object of the study were aqueous extracts of green tea. Four sorts of tea were selected for the study: Bancha (origin: Japan), Maxima (origin: Sri Lanka), Majski (origin: China) and Dilmah (origin: Sri Lanka). The amount of polyphenol compounds was determined by using the Foulin-Ciocalteau reagent and the standart gallic acid solution, and by applying the colorimetric technique. The antioxidant activity of the tested aqueous extracts of green tea was assessed by measuring 2.2-diphenyl-1-picryhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical binding by antioxidant species. Experimental studies showed that the greatest amounts of extracted substances were detected in green tea extract produced from the sort "Majski". [...].
