Introduction: The sources of mental allergens (nickel, cobalt or chromium) might be skin contact with jewelry, coins, cosmetics or dental metals. Aim of the study: To determine the frequency of cobal, nickel and chromium sensitization in patients with chronic dermatitis (CD). Materials and methods: From Jan to Dec of 2015 patients with suspected CD were tested with European Standard patch test series. Demographic and patch tests data of subjects were collected in accordance with the European Surveillance System on Contact Allergies 'minimal data set'. Statistical calculation was performed using SPPS 23.0 software package. Chi square (χ²) was used for assessing interdependence between qualitative data. The results were considered as statistically significant, where p<0.05. Confidence interval (CI) was used to calculate the lower and upper limits of the 95% for a proportion. Results: 505 patients were patch tested (79.2% females and 20.8% males). The average of age was 49.8±18 yeras. For 20% investigated subjects showed at least one positive reaction for cobalt, chromium or nickel. [...].
