Introduction. Infrared thermography is a non-radiation, non-contact technology that allows monitoring and control of physiological functions associated with skin temperature and its changes. Due to the possibilities of use, efficiency, comfort and low price, infrared thermography becomes a useful and world-wide auxiliary device for determning temperature chnages and their localization accoeding to skin temperature rise and fall. Infrared radiation can be detected by a thermographic technique to detect signs of impaired circulation that affect developing inflammatory processes. The aim of this study was to evaluate importance of thermography method in diagnostics of equine distal limb tendon injuries. Materials and methods. Horses of the Lithuanian riding hore, Trakėnai, Baltic Hanover, Žemaitukas, Hannover, Danish warmblood and Holstein breeds were examined in Marijampolė, kaunas, Alytus and Vilnius districs. The study was carried out in October-November, when the temperature in the stables was 7-11°C. The duration of the test is based on the time of the horse sport season end, as the summer season competition cycle ends in October. The thermograms of the front and back legs of the horses are determined using the thermography device "Testo 875-1". . [...].
