National and international scientific nutrition communities estimate that the supply of humans in industrialized countries with ω3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, some trace elements and some vitamins despite of a good supply with energy and protein is below their requirement (e.g. DGE, 1996). A suboptimal supply with those essential nutrients increases the risk for several metabolic disorders and diseases.
