Session 6. Energetic interconnectivity.
The Heart Lock-In meditation technique developed by Heartmath Institute is investigated. This technique that incorporates an immuno-enhancing effect mediated by increased autonomic activity was invented to enhance coherence within the body's systems - spiritual, mental, emotional, electrical, and cellular. It is also hypothesized that the Heart Lock-In technique manages to increase the interconnection between cardiac rhythms of different individuals that participate in the Heart Lock-In concurrently. An experiment into the effects of the Heart Lock-In technique was conducted in five different counties by five groups of subjects. These groups were instructed to perform the Heart Lock-In exercise while wearing cardiac monitors that registered and aggregated their inter-beat interval data. To investigate the hypothesis concerning the effect of the meditation technique on the participant's cardiac activity, a synchronization measure was computed using the obtained data. [...].
