Fundus flavimaculatus and Stargardt dystrophy - are rare autosomal recessive inherited central retinae dystrophies. Stargardt central retinae dystrophy and Fundus flavimaculatus are characterized by central visual loss, and atrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium. Fast central visual acuity loss, progressing till bindness are typical for bouth diseases. Because of the very similar bouth diseases clinic and the same gene mutation, many authors are discussing about linking these two diseases to the one pathology. Trying to answer to the question: is it the same disease, we are analyzing Stargardt dystrophy and Fundus flavimaculatus clinic, diagnostic and ophthalmological examines essential to these diaseases diagnosis and diffrential diagnosis.
