Objectives: to review the role of xerostomia as a risk factor in implantology and a possible benefit of implants in the treatment of xerostomia. Xertostomia is a multifactor syndrome that can be caused by various diseases and xerogenic drugs. Most of these drugs and disease bring a certain risk for the success of implant therapy. Xerostomia itself is a significant factor for disturbance of oral health. What is exact role of xerostomia in planning the treatment with implants?
