Introduction. Cholecystectomy is a surgical procedure during which the gallbladder is removed. The laparoscopically performed operation is done with 2-3 trocars and the camera introduced in the abdominal wall, or can be performed in the classical open cholecystectomy in which the operator has a direct access to the operating field. Aim of the study: To compare intraoperative and postoperative outcomes of laparoscopic and open cholecystectomy. Perform an analysis of an open and laparoscopic cholecystectomy on parameters: duration of the surgery, duration of the hospitalization, intraoperative and postoperative complications, pain intensity, return to work ability.
