Abstract (en)
Lead is a widespread environmental pollutant, serious hazard to the public health. Zinc is essential element for humans and animals. So, the aim of present study was to evaluate the acute effects of lead and/or zinc on the content of cellular antioxidant system components (MT, GSH) in the mice liver. The objectives of the study were to evaluate the effects of cadmium ions on the content of MT and GSH in the liver, to evaluate the influence of zinc to the antioxidative system of mice affected by lead ions. The obtained results showed that lead ions altered the content of GSH and MT. Mice pre-treatment with zinc ions prevented antioxidative system against lead-induced disturbances.
