Therapeutic effects of clindamycin phosphate 1.2% tretinoin 0.025% gel for acne vulgaris

Introduction and objective. According to European guidelines of acne management, fixed combinations of topical medications are the first line treatment of mild to moderate inflammatory acne. The aim of performed case series was to estimate the clinical effects of topical clindamycin phosphate 1.2% tretinoin 0.025% gel (CTG) for mild and moderate acne vulgaris. Materials and methods. Overall 10 patients aged 16-26 years with mild or moderate facial acne were treated with CTG. The severity grade of acne was measured according to the Plewig G and Kligman AM on the more severely affected site of the face. Once daily for 12 weeks patients applied topical CTG on the affected facial skin. Clinical assessment and photos of treted facial skin were performed on the 2, 4, and 8 weeks of treatment. Each visit patients were asked to estimate the tolerability of the medication (redness, dryness, burning sensation, erosions, odema, pain, and itch). [...].
