The aim of this research was to prove the effectiveness and usability of interocclusal appliances. Research analyses most frequent reasons and consequences of craniomandibulary trauma. This paper describes main ways of applying interocclusal appliances and principles of their construction. Patient after a temporomandibular joint head amputation was analyzed researched and the treatment plan was formed and detailed. An interocclusal appliance was manufactured and applied to treat the patient. It's efficiency and treatment results analyzed and reported. Introduction. Mandible is able to move due to healthy temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and properly working muscles of mastication and face. This allows nonconscious movements and actions such as mouth opening, closing, biting, chewing and ability to talk, controlling face expressions, psycho emotional condition and socialization.
