5-nitrofuraldehyde derivatives - potential antimicrobial compounds

Abstract

Didėjantis sergamumas infekcinėmis ligomis ir mikroorganizmų atsparumas antimikrobinėms medžiagoms lemia naujų efektyvių antibakterinių ir priešgrybelinių medžiagų poveikį. Daugelis antibakteriniu aktyvumu pasižyminčių junginių, sudėtyje turi nitrogrupę, pavyzdžiui, nitrofurano dariniai. Šie junginiai turi platų antimikrobinio veikimo spektrą. An increasing number of infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance determines the higher need for new and effective antibacterial and antifungal agents. It is known that the presence of nitro group in the structure is the key component for antibacterial activity in a great number of compounds, for instance nitrofuran derivatives. These derivatives have a broad-spectrum of antimicrobial activity.
