Abstract
Malus domestica Borkh. is the most widely grown fruit tree. It belongs to family Rosaceae. Apple leaves contains quercetin glycosides (rutin, hyperoside, isoquercitrin, avicularin, quercitrin), dihydrochalcones (phlorizin, phloretin), phenolic acids (chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid) and catechins ((+)-Catechin, (−)-Epicatechin)) [1] and triterpenoids [2]. Phlorizin is a flavanoid, member of the subgroup called dihydochalcones. Its’ importance grows mainly in connection with the treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2 [3]. Aim of experiment: To find the best type of solid phase extraction (SPE) cartridge and solvent for phlorizin recovery. Experiment tasks: 1. Compare solvents and types of cartridges for SPE recovery; 2. Evaluate phlorizin quantity by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) from fractions obtained after puriffication with different SPE cartridges. [...].
