Abstract (en)
Study was carried out on 329 patients with nodular thyroid abnormalities. Cytological biopsy (CB) was performed with 0,6-0,7 mm needle. Biopsy was repeated with 0,9-1,1 mm needle and a strip of solid material was obtained-hystological biopsy (HB). The strip was fixed in 10% formaldehyde solution and moulded inparaffin. In 84 cases (25,5%) HB results were unsatisfactory. 50 of the patients underwent thyroid surgery. [...].
