Abstract (en)
The study of acute intoxications, started in 1997, was continued in 1998. The research team included toxicologists and some faculty members of the Department of Intensive Care. The main achievement was publication of a teaching book The Clinical Toxicology written by a team of authors. It consists of 126 pages. In the book, the principles of toxicokinetics and toxicodynamics, as absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination of toxins, are analysed, classification and action of different toxins presented, rate and causes of intoxications evaluated.
