Purpose. Evaluation of different near addition combinations, refractive error and presbyopia correction level, unwanted visual side effects after bilateral M-flex multifocal intraocular lense implantation. Methods: Patients with age-related cataract who has potential visual acuity of 0,3 LogMar or better on clinical assessment were involved. Phacoemulsification through clear corneal incision was completed and an M-flex lens was implanted. Patients were assigned to three different groups: bilateral implantation with near addition of +3.0D, bilateral implantation with near addition of +4.0D, bilateral implantation of +3.0D for dominant eye and +4.0D for nondominant eye. Follow up ranged from 1 day to 6 months. ETDRS visasual acuity, reading speed, defocus curve, contrast sensitivity, pupil size, keratometry and biomicroscopy were evaluated. Questionnaire about the visual side eeffects was filled. Results: Preliminary 36 eyes of 18 patients were operated on at the Clinic of Eye Diseases at the Kaunas University of Medicine. Age range was 54-77 years. [...].
