Introduction. Anesthetic technique options are determined by considerations such as patient comfort and safety as well as postoperative pain management. Interscalene brachial plexus block (ISBPB) regional anesthesia is increasingly gaining popularity in shoulder surgery. Risks related to the use of ISBPB are generally low as regards hemodynamic change although there is evidence of fluctuations in the arterial blood pressure during the surgery. The changes can be ascribed to the factor of the sitting position (decrease in preload), effcts of the Bezold-Jarisch reflex, and the block of sympathetic trunk cervical ganglions. Aim. The present study aimed to investigate fluctuations of central circulatory variables during the surgery. Material and methods. The analysis in based on the data of 36 patients who underwent shoulder surgery. [...].
